In continuation of the academic efforts and activities that have been undertaken by the Department of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (KIRKHS) IIUM since its inception, and building upon the series of international conferences on Islamic jurisprudence it has so far organized either on its own or in collaboration with other parties:
1. International Conference on Maqasid al-Shari'ah, 8-10 August 2006.
2. International Conference on Islamic Insurance Through Waqf, 4-6 March 2008.
3. International Conference on Ijtihad and Ifta', 12-14 August 2008.
4. International Conference on Jurisprudence of Minorities in the Light of Maqasid al-Shari'ah, 9-11 November 2009.
In order to cope with the theoretical and practical developments of the Islamic financial industry (IFI), the Department has deemed appropriate to devote the fifth international conference on Islamic jurisprudence to this field due to its great importance in the socio-economic life of the Ummah.
We are pleased to announce that the 5th International Conference on Islamic Jurisprudence in the 21st Century 2014 (ICIJ2014) , is going to be held at the International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.The details of the conference are as follows:
